The Novocherkassk Synthetic Products Plant (NSPP) was commissioned in 1952 and was one of the so-called “numbered” plants, designated as No. 17. The plant was established for the production of products derived from coal. It specialized in the manufacture of organic chemical compounds, methanol, and formalin, and also produced carbon dioxide, foaming agents, consumer fertilizers, and other goods. Its products were exported to CIS countries, Eastern Europe, and the United States.

    Novocherkassk Industrial Park

The Novocherkassk Industrial Park, established in 2015 on the site of the former NSPP chemical plant, became one of the first industrial parks in the Rostov region. Initially covering an area of 219 hectares, it has expanded to 306 hectares thanks to dynamic development. Today, the park brings together more than 30 resident manufacturing companies from various industries that are successfully operating. The creation of the industrial park has given a strong boost to the region’s industrial potential, attracting investment, promoting production modernization, and generating new jobs.

    Special Economic Zone "Rostovskaya"

In March 2024, the Novocherkassk Industrial Park officially received the status of the Rostov Special Economic Zone. The decision was formalized by Resolution No. 280 of the Government of the Russian Federation dated March 7, 2024, signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. Granting SEZ status marked a key stage in the development of the region’s industrial potential, opening up new opportunities for residents. This status has significantly increased the investment appeal of the territory by providing access to unique tax incentives and government support measures. In its very first year of operation, the Rostov SEZ fulfilled the resident quota requirements, and today the number of residents has already reached nine.
